One of the small jobs I seem to do quite frequently is upgrading machine heads/tuners, normally for higher quality locking tuners which make re-stringing so much quicker and easier. I also make this upgrade myself to every refit I’ve ever done, plus I think some of the necks I’ve bought in the past came with their own packet of bog-standard tuners.
As a consequence, I have no fewer than 18 sets (that’s 108 tuners) of old standard chrome machine heads, plus two sets of left-handed ones – one gold and one chrome.
