EDIT 27/03: So the raffle for the hand-built Telecaster named “A Hard Ukraine Not Gonna Fall” that was drawn today failed to reach the minimum requirement of 25 tickets sold. This is a major disappointment, since I have already donated £500 to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
Consequently I took the executive decision to extend the raffle a further week – it now closes at 6pm on Sunday April 3rd. Anyone who already bought a £10 ticket will have two tickets in the new draw automatically entered for them by moi, while the new tickets will just be £5 each.
Come on, let’s at least try and reach the £500 already donated!!
EDIT 15/03: Re-upping this again. Because I’m worried that places like Mariupol won’t survive long enough for a bleedin’ raffle to end, I have just gone ahead and donated £500 to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Consequently it would be great if we could get to fifty £10 tickets sold (currently 20 – thank you so much to everyone who has bought one), so that my donation is the guitar and not the cash too! If you don’t want to win a guitar, even though your niece’s boyfriend’s cousin plays guitar and would love it – then I’ll buy it back off you if you win it and don’t want it! It’s only a tenner!
EDIT 13/03: Some of the feedback on how ‘ugh, bog-standard’ the spec of this guitar is has got me feeling glum. So I’ve decided to step it up a notch. She’s been re-routed to have a Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucker in the neck pickup slot, and will have my trademark ‘semi-Cabronita’-style pickguard in brushed aluminium, and even some fancy-schmancy ‘engraved’ bridge and control plate hardware too!
This raffle to raise money for the DEC Ukrainian Appeal is of “A Hard Ukraine’s Not Gonna Fall” – a hand-built hot and beefy Telecaster in the colours of the Ukrainian flag. A work-in-progress, I only started the build on 9th March 2022, so the pics are only partly-assembled to give you a better idea of what you might win – I’ll be finishing up this week, and you will be winning a fully set-up beautiful and finished guitar!
A hand-cut ash body, with a beautiful maple neck, ‘Ukraine’ is going to sport a different set up to that originally pictured (see edit below).
She is being raffled, and a ticket will set you back just £10 (US$13, EUR€12) with 100% of net proceeds after shipping costs* going to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. If you don’t want the chance to win the guitar, but do want to donate directly instead, please do head on over to the DEC’s appeal page instead:

Or, y’know, buy a bunch of tickets in the name of Vladimir Putin c/o the Kremlin.
“A Hard Ukraine’s Not Gonna Fall” as a name displays my usual wit and wisdom by combining a bad pun with a song title, and both the name and the build were inspired at the 11th hour by the humour and grace with which Ukraine has been fighting against Putin’s illegal and immoral war of aggression.
Payment, like everything on this site, uses PayPal, and I do need some extra details from you – so it’ll take you a couple of minutes to buy the ticket, but what’s a couple of minutes compared to the hell Ukraine is going through?
*shipping costs are: UK or Ireland – £30, Europe – £60, rest of the world – £120, and includes a bespoke hard case, bound in leatherette also in the colours of the Ukrainian flag (blue lid and yellow base).
