Originally the guitar that became DG002 (‘Plum’) was going to be ‘Fuchsia’, but I made a boo-boo in the paint sprayer. But I did still have that pink paint, and wanted to build a Telecaster inspired by three young female singer-songwriters I know. They are all very feminine, to the point of being pink and shiny (one even has pink hair), but they all three have a dark side. ‘Fuchsia’ has a gloss black back separated from the bright fuchsia front by a white binding, and sports black hardware including locking tuners, like a goth gurl’s black nail varnish – she even has black strings. The loudness comes from a Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucker in the neck position, and a no-name Telecaster bridge pickup I had laying around!. She also has a less evil twin brother (DG007).
